About

We are pleased to offer an inventory of the highest quality instruments and bows, antique and modern, from entry level professional instruments to old Italian and French treasures.  We will be glad to help you choose one that fits your needs and budget and find solutions for you, like our unique lease-to-own program.

With parallel careers as in demand concert violinists and professional orchestra members we have the experience of the player, as well as the trader of the instrument, which allows us to select the best instruments and bows for our business, based primarily on the most favorable combination of functionality and investment value.

Karapetyan Brothers

Born in Armenia, 10 years apart, brothers Henrik and Hrayr Karapetyan forged careers in Classical violin performance on two different continents after leaving Armenia in 2002 and 2012 respectively, Henrik in the USA and Hrayr in Europe.

Among other venues, they have performed solo and chamber music in Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, Palais de Bozar and Armenian Philharmonic Hall.

Henrik Karapetyan, a member of the Detroit Opera Orchestra, has earned a doctorate from the University of Michigan and Hrayr Karapetyan, a member of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liege and the winner of international competitions is currently one of the most active and in demand young soloists in Belgium.  The brothers have released a number of independent recordings in Classical and non-Classical medium and founded the Karapetyan Brothers Project, a performance initiative that has been endorsed by the former Armenian Ministry of Diaspora and Armenian Embassies in Europe and North America.

The love and dedication to music has led the brothers to explore the ever fascinating world of string instruments and bows, their history, construction, sound and mysteries surrounding the only musical instrument family that has the distinction of being an Art piece and a functional tool at the same time!  Throughout the years, they have accumulated a collection of instruments, accepted consignments, as well as started a signature series of violins and have united their efforts to create the Karapetyan Violins, a place that you will be serviced with the most meticulous care and approach tailored to ease the search for the right instrument and the bow for you!  We are based in Liege, Belgium AND Ann Arbor, USA, so you have a chance to find the violin or the bow you need on either side of the Atlantic!

In addition to the inventory of antique treasures we also offer modern violins of professional quality for prices that are more than compatible with the current market and payment options that no other business can offer:  Our unique and unprecedented Lease-to-Own program allows young professionals and aspiring talented students to own a professional instrument without having to pour out all of their savings or having to get a high interest loan (as the small business/personal loans usually are).  We also take special requests to “hunt” for an instrument or a bow for you.  Our vast network of dealers, experts, music professionals and businesses allows us to procure consignments for items that you would love with a price tag that will fit your budget.   For our signature series, we deal with makers directly, cutting the need for a middle man and hence, being able to offer you a “deal” on violins, violas and cellos that would ordinarily cost significantly more elsewhere.

We are excited to discuss details with you, whether you are looking for a genuine 17th Century Carlo Testore violin, a Hill or Sartory bow, or a Karapetyan Violins (KV) Gasparo de Salo copy viola!
